Peterson Motorsports is currently racing 2 nights a week for the first time in the team's history. Friday nights at the I-94 Speedway right down the road in Sauk Centre, MN. The 3/8th mile track was last dirt 16 years ago and has returned to it's roots. Saturday nights you can find the 32 Rocket Chassis Wissota Latemodel tearing up the big 1/2 mile oval at the Viking Speedway in Peterson Motorsport's hometown of Alexandria,MN.

August 27th-09- Two Weeks remaining at I-94 Speedway. Shaun maintains a 10 point lead over Jeff Hinkemeyer in the Season Point Standings. With just over one month left in the National Wissota Point Standings, Shaun currently sits in 52nd postion out of 299 Wissota Latemodel competitors. In the Minnesota Wissota Latemodel State Championship Point Standings, Shaun is 15th out of 178 drivers who have raced in the state of Minnesota. In Wissota's Central Region, Shaun sits in 17th out of 163 fellow Wissota Latemodel pilots. The Central Region consists of wetern Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wissota Latemodel racers.  

August 7th-09- After another week off, due to some rain, Shaun Peterson was finally back on the track Friday night August 7th. Despite drizzling conditions throughout the area and at the track, I-94 Speedway decided to get the show in. Shaun drew last out of 9 Latemodels in attendance. Shaun was able to pass a single car, as the track was extremely greasy. Shaun finished 8th. Shaun then started 8th in the 25 lap Feature event. Shaun got as high as 4th place in the running order as a few late cautions flew. Shaun was then lined up in 2nd place with a green,white,checkered finish to come. Shaun was able to pull in to Victory Lane for the 1st time in the 09 season. Shaun passed Jeff Hinkemeyer coming to the white flag for the exciting charge to the win. Finishing order was Shaun Peterson, Seth Brede, Myron Tskharet, Jeff Hinkemeyer, and Dennis Hilson finishing in 5th. Shaun was able to add 2 more points to his Season Championship Point lead. He now owns an 11 point advantage over Eric Breeschoten.

July 31st-09- Shaun Peterson currently leads the I-94 Speedway's, Wissota Latemodel Championship Point Standings. Shaun sits in 7th place at Viking Speedway's, Wissota Latemodel Championships Point Standings. Shaun sits in 52nd place out of 273 drivers, in the Wissota National Latemodel Standings. Shaun is currently in 19th place  out of 164 drivers, in the Minnesota State Wissota Latemodel Standings. Shaun is in 26th position out of 145 competitors, in Wissota's Central Regional Latemodel Standings as of July 30th. Shaun has competed in 15 Wissota Latemodel events. Shaun has tallied 2 Heat Race wins, and has 9, top 5 Feature finishes on the 2009 season. His best Feature finish on the season is 3rd. Shaun has five 3rd place finishes, two 4th place finishes, two 5th place finishes, one 7th, one 8th, two 12th place finishes, one 22nd, and one DNQ, for Wissota Feature Events on the 2009 season.

July 30th-09- Peterson Motorsports ran the weekly event at I-94 Speedway on July 25th. Shaun started off the evening from the outside of the front row, and stormed to an impressive Heat race win. Shaun started 7th on the grid for the Main Event of the evening. The 32 car stormed up to 2nd place at the half way point. A late race caution and Jeff Hinkemeyer snuck by, as Shaun claimed 3rd place on the evening. Brady Johaneck, Jeff Hinkemeyer, Shaun Peterson, Eric Breeschoten, and Kyle Peterlin were the top 5. Shaun extended his point lead to 9 points over runner up Eric Breeschoten for the Season Championship. Shaun has decided not to run weekly at the Viking Speedway for the remainder of the 2009 season. Due to extreme track conditions and his bad luck, Shaun has decided to run weekly at I-94 Speedway, and just hop around and enjoy the rest of the summer on Saturday nights. July 19th-09- Shaun ran at I-94 Speedway on June 17th. Shaun raced to 3rd place in Heat 2 of the 12 car field. The 32 car lined up 6th to start the 25 lap main event. Shaun raced to another top 5 performance, coming across the line in 5th. Jeff Wildung, Jeff Hinkemeyer, Eric Breeschoten, and Kyle Peterlin were the top 4. Shaun maintains a slim 4 point cushion and currently is still atop the season standings over Eric Breeschoten. On July 18th, Shaun ran at the Viking Speedway. Shaun's luck at Viking has been horrid this season, and this night would be no different for the 32 team. Shaun claimed 6th place in Heat 2 of the 16 car field. Sahun started 12th in the Feature and was battling for a top 5 spot, when the leader of the race spun, and Shaun piled into spinning Don Shaw. Shaun was credited with a 12th place finish on the night. Tough season so far at Peterson's Motorsports home track.

July 14th-09- Peterson Motorsports competed in their first Dart Challenge Series event, of the season on July 7th @ Viking Speedway. Shaun had a tough start to night with a 8th place finish in Heat race 4. Shaun was then slotted in the 2nd "B" Feature where he finished in 6th place, missing the Dart Challenge Series Feature. A tough field, tough draw, lead to a tough night. Peterson Motorsports took the weekend off and will be running 2 times this weekend. Friday night @ I-94 Speedway, where Shaun still holds a 8 point advantage over Eric Breeschoten in the track Championship battle. Saturday night Shaun will be running @ Viking Speedway where he currently sits in 7th spot. Shaun currently sits 51st in the Wissota National Points, 21st in the Wissota MN State Points, and 24th in the Wissota Central Region Championship Point Standings.

July 4th-09- I-94 Speedway cancelled the races on July 3rd. The track was a mess, they watered the track and then a heavy shower pushed through the area and left the track in rough shape. They had about 15 to 20 cars trying to pack with another 40 cars sitting in the pits. Alot of people left with a bad taste in their mouths. Their were only 11 Latemodels for the $1500 to win event. No makeup date was announced, but the fireworks show is suppossed to take place next Friday night. Latemodels do not run @ I-94 Speedway next Friday, due to the Dakota Rumble $10,000 to win Latemodel event @ Brown County Speedway, in Aberdeen,SD. Peterson Motorsports next takes to the track on Tuesday July 7th, @ Viking Speedway, Alexandria, MN, for the Dart Challenge Series event which pays $2000 to the feature winner.

July 2nd-09- Peterson Motorsports starts a busy week of racing with the Friday Night Latemodel special @ I-94 Speedway, in Sauk Centre,MN. This event is paying $1500 to the feature winner, with $1200 for the runner up spot. Shaun enters the weekend currently atop the point standings @ I-94 Speedway with an 8 point advantage over the 2nd place car of Eric Breeschoten. The 4th of July there will be no Latemodels at Viking Speedway, in Alexandria,MN, due to the Mod Nationals event. Shaun will take to his hometrack on Tuesday the 7th, for the Dart Challenge series event. If all goes well for the 32 team, he will then run the next leg of the Dart Challenge series the next evening @ Madison Speedway, in Madison,MN. Both events pay $2000 to the feature winner. Shaun currently sits 7th in Viking Speedway season standings and currently sits in 44th position in the Wissota National Point Standings.

June 27th-09- Shaun was back running the big half mile @ Viking Speedway. He started out the evening with a tough draw, and a stacked heat race, which resulted in a 5th place finish in the heat race. He missed the feature race invert and had to start in the 10th position in the Feature race. Shaun bolted to up to the front and finished a solid 4th on this nite. Zach Johnson, Jeff Wildung, Jeff Hinkemeyer, Shaun Peterson, and Seth Brede were the top 5. Shaun moved up from 10th position in the season standings @ Viking Speedway to the 7th spot.

June 26th-09- Shaun put together another strong performance @ I-94 Speedway. Shaun started out the evening capturing 2nd in the first heat of evening. Shaun then started 6th in the Feature event and climbed to finish 3rd once again, against a strong field. Jeff Wildung took the checkers, followed by Brady Johaneck, Shaun Peterson, Seth Brede, and Governers Cup winner Kyle Peterlin rounding out 5th. Shaun extended his point lead @ I-94 to an 8 point advantage over Eric Breeschoten.

June 25th-09- Shaun Peterson currently leads the Wissota Latemodel weekly point standings @ I-94 Speedway. After 4 events,Shaun holds a 1 point lead over the #66 of Eric Breeschoten. Shaun currently sits in 10th in the Viking Speedway Point Standings. Shaun is currently in 38th place in the Wissota National Point Standings.

June 19th-09- Shaun raced to his 1st Heat race win of the 2009 season @ I-94 Speedway. Shaun finished 3rd in the exciting Feature event. Seth Brede and Eric Breeschoten finished in the top 2 spots. Scott Lehn and Jeff Hinkemeyer rounded out the top 5. Shaun had the high side of the Speedway really working , especially in turns 1-2. Shaun just couldnt get by the top 2, but the 3 cars out front put on a tremondous race for the crowd.

June 13th-09- Shaun caputured a top 5 performance during the 2009 Steve Wagner Memorial Feature event @ Viking Speedway. Shaun was running strong at the finish and came across the line in 5th place. Justin fegers,Pat Doar,Eric Breeschoten,and Greg meyer rounded out the top 4.

June 12th-09- Shaun finished 3rd in Feature event, and came away with another great run @I-94 Speedway. Shaun finished behind Zach Johnson and Marshall Fegers. Kyle Peterlin and Jeff Wildung rounded out the top 5.

June 5th-09- Peterson Racing claims 3rd place during an exciting Feature event @ I-94 Speedway. Shaun ran down Defending and 2 time Wissota National Champion Zach Johnson and made the pass for lead in the 25 lap event at lap 15. Shaun led the race until lap 18 when the car developed a push and he hung on to claim 3rd at the line. Zach Johnson and Jeff Hinkemeyer finished 1-2. Eric Breeschoten and Brady Johaneck finished 4th and 5th.
